OPS in Italian Vogue

Oregon Painting Society

During the group’s visit to the Tate last May for the No Soul for Sale exhibition, Portland-based art collective Oregon Painting Society participated in some interviews and photo shoots – one of which is posted here: http://www.vogue.it/en/magazine/l-uomo-vogue/2010/12/oregon-painting-society

Oregon Painting Society has a ton of content on their site, from photo documentation to audio downloads to video links – check it out.  You can even download their Gift Tapes cassette, released last June.

Cassette Tape Elk Skeleton

Elk - Brian Dettmer

A good friend of mine forwarded me a link today about Brian Dettmer’s work.  I couldn’t wait to post it, as it seems all too appropriate.  He forms audio cassette tapes into skeletons.  The above image is an elk skeleton made of tapes!  F’ing amazing work!!  Check out his site here: http://www.briandettmer.com/ or images on his Flickr.  Curious though… I wonder if there’s any good tapes in there.
